Over the last 20 years Dr Matthew ABJ Potts has developed the “hybrid” Dorsi Method for the management of postural problems. Firstly it utilises established Chiropractic CBP hands-on treatment protocols. In CBP the Doctor of Chiropractic moves your spine in a very gentle and ultra-precise way to stimulate the correction of abnormal spinal curvatures, or the improvement of the curvatures that you do actually want… The spine is a complicated thing!

In complex cases we will also use “Mirror-Image” traction, which involves you laying on a foam wedge that is shaped to suit your spine. It is called mirror-image because you lay on the wedge in exactly the opposite way to how your spine usually sits. At first this can feel weird, so we build you up from just a minute or two to 20 minutes which is the point of maximum traction of the spinal muscles and ligaments.

Although CBP is growing in popularity, there are still only a few experienced CBP practitioners in the UK. This is the point that most CBP Doctors would stop, but with a background in rehabilitation, working with elite sports teams Dr Potts wanted an advanced stage to rebuild your spine so that it can support this new movement and positioning. Eventually, after years of research, Dr Potts trained in the Schroth Technique which was developed purely for the rehabilitation of postural abnormalities such Scoliosis and other spinal curvatures.

Our rehab team will teach you simple exercises and ways to sit, walk, stand and lay. The principles are very simple because we are looking to change your spinal patterns for as much as your day as possible. This has been proven to be so effective because it differs from other approaches that look to give you 30 minute workouts, but do not consider the other 23.5 hours in a day!
